O Books, Where Are Thy Beauty?
Deliverables
Print DesignIllustrationWhen Westminster Theological Seminary came to us with the task to design new book covers, they came to us with a vision they could only express in words: modern, classic, quality, inviting, timeless, glorious. The challenge was realizing this vision into print. But after a collaborative process of research and thoughtful design, the solution became clear, and beautiful new book covers were born.
Have faith in the details
Where each book jacket came alive was in their details. Paying meticulous attention to materials, color theory, and religious symbolism, we worked closely with both our client and a famed Italian bookbinder to deliver end designs that harmonized with the important messages hiding inside every book.
Designing by process
Uncovering the right visual identity for each book was an exercise in research, design study, and collaboration. The final designs hit the mark not because of some “aha” moment of inspiration, but because of the thorough and collaborative exploration we undertook to arrive at the final design solution.
Beauty that’s meant to be seen
We worked with Westminster Seminary to develop print and digital ads, as well as a fully outfitted catalog, so their new book designs could get the visibility they deserved. When you’re proud of something, you show it off. But more than that, these marketing assets shared with the world the important messages that make each one of these books special, glorified.
