National Philanthropic Trust is a leader in facilitating philanthropy on a global scale. In particular, NPT is the largest national independent provider of Donor Advised Funds. Despite this prestigious reputation, the organization’s previous web design did not effectively showcase the Trust’s brand, depth of expertise, or global impact.

Problem

NPT wanted their website to reflect their status as a leader in donor-advised funds and philanthropic solutions. The existing site failed to deliver an intuitive user experience or effectively highlight NPT’s expertise and services, especially for their high-net-worth audience and institutional partners. To stay competitive, they needed a redesign that paired cutting-edge technology with clear, strategic content.

Our Approach

We began with a deep dive into NPT’s goals and audience needs, using stakeholder interviews and competitive research to inform every decision. Our team reimagined the site’s architecture, emphasizing simplicity and accessibility for diverse user groups. We crafted a content strategy that clarified NPT’s services and impact while ensuring every page aligned with their mission. The redesign brought a fresh, modern look, interactive features, and a seamless experience, positioning NPT as the go-to resource for philanthropic expertise.

Collaborative Goalsetting

To kick off the project, the Push10 team collaborated closely with NPT in a workshop environment where the group prioritized key goals and functionality, defined the target audience, determined the visual style, and outlined the content requirements for the website.

Highlighting Global Impact

NPT is one of the largest grant-making institutions in the United States, having made more than 200,000 grants totaling $5.6 billion to charities worldwide. Push10 introduced a brand new feature that highlights this impressive worldwide impact – an interactive grant highlights map.

Data Visualization, with Flexibility

Post-launch, Push10 continued to work alongside the NPT team to add features and functionality to the new website. A robust landing page for their most recent Annual Report was just launched, featuring enhancements such as editable data visualization and dynamic charts.

Designing Custom Charts

We built customized graphs using ApexCharts JS to optimize graph layout. Different chart styles were needed across the site, so we created layouts for line, bar, pie, scatter and bubble graphs. All charts were integrated with Scroll Magic to achieve a unified and seamless experience.

A System for Editable Data

NPT needed to efficiently and accurately edit the data in any given chart. Using data attributes with JSON calls, we were able to create a backend system in WordPress that allows site admins to easily make edits for both the data and labels of each graph. This was integrated into multiple post types, which allows the NPT team to add charts in various locations throughout the site.
